Chamber’s Main Events
The Loxton Chamber of Commerce put on major events which help to raise Loxton’s profile and attract visitors to our region. This stimulates the local economy, providing broad based benefits to our member businesses and the wider community.
Arts on Terrace
August is Art month in Loxton. Over 20 local businesses become a progressive gallery along the ‘August Art Trail’ where people can meander through Loxton’s unique village style shopping precinct in East Terrace to view an impressive collection of local masterpieces.
The art then comes alive on the 2nd Sunday of August for ‘Arts on Terrace’ when Loxton becomes a vibrant gallery of creativity, conversation and commerce. Our vibrant shopping precinct is open for a special Sunday trading day, there are a variety of creative workshops held in local businesses and you can see and talk to local artists in action. Along with the highly anticipated Junk Art Sculpture Competition with prize money totalling $3,000 over 6 categories, Arts on Terrace is a unique and authentic celebration of the arts.
Light Up Day
Loxton shines brighter than ever on Light Up Day, held annually on the last Saturday in November. For over 25 years the event has marked the beginning of the award-winning month long Loxton Christmas Lights Festival (www.loxtonlights.com).
Light Up Day is one of Loxton’s major events of the year and one of the Riverland’s most popular and enduring family festivals. A great day’s free entertainment for the whole family in the heart of town with music, children’s craft & activities, twilight markets, food trucks and local businesses open all day. You can visit Santa, collect free goodies on the Reindeer Road and sing along to the live children’s concert on the main stage.
Then the sky comes alive at 9pm with an incredible fireworks spectacular on the banks of the Murray River, to officially Light Up Loxton for the Festival.
The Loxton Chamber of Commerce, together with our valued sponsors, is proud to host Loxton Light Up Day which captures the magic and wonder of Christmas and creates memories that will last a lifetime.

The Riverland is the only place to be for Easter. With so many visitors and tourists here for the long weekend, it is the ideal time to showcase our town and the close-knit community.
The Loxton Chamber of Commerce invite everyone to a Free Picnic on Easter Saturday morning to enjoy our locally baked hot cross buns, fresh fruits from the region and tea, coffee and Riverland fresh orange juice. There are Easter activities for the kids and a visit from Easter Bunny handing out free Easter eggs.

HPV racing, or pedal prix racing as it’s more widely known in South Australia, is a spectacular, fast paced activity with teams ranging from year 6 students through to adults competing over a 6 hour period, riding single seat, recumbent, fully faired trikes to speeds in excess of 60km/hr.
The Loxton Pedal Prix is a truly unique event. It boasts the only street circuit in the series, allowing over 100 vehicles to race the 1.5km track running right through the centre of Loxton.
The event attracts a great number of competitor teams, riders and spectators to our town in early May each year.
The Loxton Chamber of Commerce work closely with the District Council of Loxton Waikerie, to ensure the event’s success, by opening our vibrant shopping precinct for a special Sunday trading day.
