Light Up Day

The Loxton District Chamber of Commerce and our Key Partner, Lin Andrews Real Estate, together with our many valued sponsors, are proud to host Light Up Day.

This is Loxton's Major event of the year which launches the month long Christmas Lights Festival. Light Up Day culminates with fireworks which is the official start to Loxton lighting up.

An icon on Loxton's event calendar, Light Up Day brings the community together to enjoy a variety of entertainment, performances, market stalls, food and amusements.

This year's feature stage shows are the Ticklish Allsorts and Cool 4 Kids.

The excitement, buzz and energy of this unique event is best experienced by pulling up a patch of grass in front of the main stage and being spellbound by spectacular fireworks which provide a fitting finale to a memorable day.

The Loxton community is passionate and justifiably proud of this day which uplifts the spirit and touches the heart, demonstrating the very essence of what makes our charming town so special.

FOOD CATERING, MARKET STALLS, ENTERTAINMENT & AMUSEMENT APPLICATIONS

On behalf of the Loxton District Chamber of Commerce, I am delighted to invite you to participate in the 2011 Loxton Light Up Day to be held on Saturday, 26th November.

Since it was established in 1992, Loxton Light Up Day has become and institution, a day for family, food, friends and fun unfolding in the heart of town down to the waters of the River Murray.  One of the Riverland’s most popular and enduring events, this family festival has captured the hearts and imaginations of the young and old and everyone in between.  Today the event attracts over 8,000 local, state and national visitors to Loxton each year providing a significant boost to tourism and the local economy.

Loxton is a charming vibrant rural community on the south bank of the Murray River, 250kms north-east of Adelaide and 185kms west of Mildura.  Light Up Day, an icon on Loxton’s event calendar marking the beginning of our famous month long Christmas Lights Festival, brings the community together to enjoy a variety of stage performances, entertainment, shopping, market stalls, activities and an array of wonderful foods.

Our Festival is a not for profit free community event made possible by the generous support of sponsors, local businesses, organisations and volunteers.  The close-knit community of Loxton is passionate and justifiably proud of this positive social event which uplifts the spirit and touches the heart, demonstrating the very essence of what makes our charming town so special.  For further information about Light Up Day please visit the website www.loxtonlights.com.

It is our pleasure to invite you to be a valued and integral part of the success of Light Up Day 2011.  Applications are now open for Food Catering Sites, Market Stalls, Entertainment and Amusements etc.  And it’s a great opportunity for fundraising!

Quality and variety are key factors in injecting energy and atmosphere into this successful event and it is our aim to provide as many different stalls, foods and activities as possible.  Therefore, the Chamber reserves the right to reject an application where there may be a conflict of interest and/or it doubles up with another site already booked.  This is also done to ensure the financial success of each provider.
